Dim Sum: Touching Your Heart for the First Time
The culinary art of preparing dim sum is a long-held Cantonese cultural tradition. Commonly translated as "to touch the heart," dim sum is fast becoming the meal alternative for many people on their casual breakfasts and even lunches. A ubiquitous food item in all Chinese restaurants and food stalls, dim sum consists of small portions of specialty foods. They usually come pushed on trays or carts, delivered to you by the restaurant server. This practice is reminiscent of old Chinese vending practices.
